Description
The huge cherry blossom tree from the wild of Mt. Koya is a very long-lived tree species. The cherry blossoms in Mount Koya are very special and have always been cherished by the Japanese. In front of the Samadhi Hall, there is a cherry blossom tree named "Nishigyo Tree", which was planted by the famous Japanese waka poet Saigyu himself. He once sang the poem "I hope to die under the cherry blossom tree in spring, so I can look at the moon", showing his love for Koya mountain cherry.
